Take it, Make it... CraftStamper Challenge

Good Morning, well I have been a bit busy for the last few weeks... designing,  Christmas card making and getting all the decorations out and dressing the tree, so it didn't leave a lot of time for other inky stuff but I'm sure the recipient has received their card so thought it fitted perfectly into the

As always, the challenge will be based on a technique showcased in the magazine, but this time we don't have one particular project in mind. Katy decided that as there are three projects featuring an 'ombre' effect in the January issue, then this is the technique we'll be focussing on!

an 'ombre' effect is just graduating colours of ink/paint/whatever....but feel free to interpret the theme as you wish!
I got out my Oriental Zen set and created an ombre background in graduating tones of green to tan inks, stamping off to get a fainter impression.
The peony, I have stamped twice, one with the leaves, then cut out with a border to look like a die cut, I cut the main flower with a border too. The sentiment comes from the Tree Hugs stamp set.

I hope you get some time to join in, the challenge runs for two months so plenty of inky time.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderfully creative day

Bottlebrush Tree tag - Chris

Hi everyone, Chris here today with a tag I've made using stamps from the gorgeous Bottlebrush Tree stamp set. As ever an amazingly versatile set that gives so many options and is testament to Kim's incredibly clever designs.

I've gone for a bit of a chalkboard effect with black and white and just a hint of colour. I've stamped the background of the black tag with white ink using both of the snowflake and both of the star stamps in the set and then I've also stamped some of the larger snowflake again in embossing ink and embossed with detail white enamel.

I've added white lace to the bottom of the tag and then edged my die cut frame with white ink and mounted with dimension tape. The centre panel uses the bottlebrush tree with bauble spaces and I've again embossed with white powder. I stamped the stem with the smaller of the two and stamped twice to create more of a tree trunk effect, I also used an embossing ink pen to make the snowy base for the tree to stand on and again embossed in white. The little wood stars are embossed with white powder and I've added dots with the embossing pen around the tree and sprinkled with white and with Shabby white powder.

I coloured in the tree baubles with red and gree pencils as they will colour over the black card. I edged everything with white ink smudging it a bit to give the chalk effect The little lable die cut at the top is stamped with the Merry Christmas sentiment from the set so really there is everything in this set to make all the Christmas cards and tags you could need.

I love the effect of the tree in white embossing powder, I'll definitely be doing that again and perhaps I'll make a matching card for this tag.

Hope you have some time to create today and back soon!

Chris xx

My Fabulous Mum

Good Morning, I hope you've enjoyed the samples this week, today I'm showcasing the Fabulous Everything set, it's based on the same design features as the Just Because and Happy Thoughts' sets.
I wanted to show a few details about the kissing strip included in each set...
I've picked the large word and the kissing strip and placed them onto separate blocks.
Then applied ink to the pattern kissing strip
Next simply press the clean word stamp onto the inked stamp,
And now you have a custom patterned word...
If you applied a different coloured ink to the fabulous word before pressing into the inked kissing strip then the stripes would be two tone.
Or just stamp the pattern like washi tape, very versatile.

Please forgive the picture quality, the weather here is just not photo friendly, in fact the cardstock on this card is a completely different colour in real life!
For my card I used the flourish outline and two other words from the set, I then heat embossed them in white embossing powder. I coloured in the word with distress markers, when disaster happened... the ink smudged over the embossing and now will not budge, so the white has a slight tinge to it.
I stamped the kissing strip pattern onto white card and trimmed like a ribbon. The flower is from my Oriental Zen set, I've stamped and heat embossed them twice, fussy cut, then layered using clear dimensional adhesive.

Now it's time to hop over to Chris to see her lovely sample and then...
Head over to the wonderful Simonne to see her amazing sample.

The Details:
  • Fabulous Everything will be available for purchase on December 13th.
  • It will retail for £9.
  • Fabulous Every contains a total of 20 images, The set includes a main word stamp, a hand drawn nouveau flourish as an outline, as well as coordinating words to build up exactly the sentiment you need. The set includes a kissing strip to add pattern to the word stamp or use it as washi tape if you're so inclined...

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you pop back for the full reveal tomorrow. Have a wonderfully creative day!

Happy Christmas

Onto the Happy Thoughts set...
The background was created with distress inks I applied over dry embossing snowflake dies into my cardstock,
I used the same distress inks to colour some card, cut a couple of snowflakes and applied some sparkly glitter to.
For this sample I have stamped the flourish outline onto the prepared background, then inked up the Happy word with clear ink and applied clear embossing powder all over I heat set them together, it worked out pretty well. The Christmas is a coordinating word in part of the set.

Now it's time to hop over to Chris to see her lovely sample and then...
Head over to the wonderful Simonne to see her amazing sample.

The Details:

Because You're Loved

For this sample I have stamped just the nouveau outline onto vellum, the 'You're Loved' fitted very snug under the embossing. The background was created with distress inks, I used the same distress inks to stamp all the little hearts using the ribbed background stamp.
The little hearts fitted into the large heart aperture, I've adhered them in with dimensional foam.

Now it's time to hop over to Chris to see her gorgeous sparkly sample and then...
Head over to the wonderful Simonne to see her wonderful sample.

The Details:
  • Just Because will be available for purchase on December 13th.

Sneak Peeks... Sentiment Stamps

Good Morning I hope you had a wonderful weekend,

I will be releasing three sentiments sets on Friday, 'Just Because', 'Happy Thoughts' and 'Fabulous Everything'. They have a main word stamp with a hand drawn nouveau flourish as an outline, each set includes a kissing strip to add pattern to the word stamp or use it as washi tape if you're so inclined... there are coordinating words in each set so of course you can mix and match and make up exactly the sentiment you need, which will make them very useful in your stamp collection.
