Challenge #4 ~ Sketch

It's FRIDAY!!!!
Yippee!!! which means our next challenge, but before I tell you all about it I want to announce that the lovely Karen won last fortnights challenge with her gorgeous knitted embossing flower card.
Thank you so much Karen for participating, please email me for your prize.

This week's challenge we are going with a sketch...

So, you can interpret the sketch in any way you like, a card, a scrapbook or journal page or whatever takes your fancy ~ You can flip the sketch, turn it, the sketch is just a starting point, the flower can be any embellishment or die cut. If you want to rotate the sketch that's fine too - as long as we can see the basis of the sketch in the final projects anything goes!

Please use at least one Paperbabe Stamps in your creations
you are welcome to combine with other challenges provided it's as similar to this as possible.

And now it's time to check out what the talented team created...

Jackie
Made by Jackie using Peony & Bud stamped on burnt orange and green with white embossing powder.

Kerrie
Made by Kerrie using Clear Stamps 'Mayleedee', 'Ribbed Background' and 'DesignA Knit' - I followed the sketch but added a scalloped edge die-cut and stamped the Pompom from the DesignA Knit set around the stamped Mayleedee which I have coloured using coloured pencils. The sentiment is from the DesignA Knit set.

Chris
Chris has made a gift box from a die cut. The background is stamped with the Ribbed Background, the Cumulus Background has been stamped onto the bottom layer of the panel and then I've stamped the sentiment label with the diagonal stripe pattern and the friend sentiment from the Fabulous set. I finished off with the circle die cut stamped with the large Pom Pom and yarn pieces from Design a Knit.

Lady

made by Ladyusing Peony & Bud stamped 4 times clipped to create a 3D effect and mounted on foam. Colorized with Spectrum Noir and the sentiment from MayLeeDee kimono.

Kim
Kim interpreted the sketch slightly different, by changing the scale of the layers, the base layer is ribbed background heat embossed and inked as a resist. The circle is the ornate frame, slightly inked and distressed. The deer Kim stamped onto kraft and trimmed. The happy sentiment has been stamped onto wood paper and cut in a 'manly' ribbon.

Have fun, the deadline for entries is 8th Oct, simply add your link to Inlinkz below... winners will be announced on our next Challenge 10th Oct.

We hope you pop by next week for sneak peeks of October's new release starting tues 30th...

Stamps Are in The Shop

Thank you so much for joining us this week, we've had a wonderful response to the new release. You'll be happy to know that they are now ready to buy, click the images to go their place in the shop...

I wanted to let you know that I've restocked Mayleedee clear stamp.

And just to whet your creativity... here's another sample using the Large Peony & Bud rubber stamp set
I've stamped a background using the Oriental zen set, I used versamark, what a difference it makes when you re-ink it lol.
I stamped the seigaiha at the top and the flowers and fish to the bottom half of the card. The sentiment I used the Just Because stamp set, the because word has also been stamped in versamark and the rest in black versafine ink.
The flower I stamped in london fog ink on white card and coloured using my copics, I then fussy cut it out. The grey ink really helps for a softer petal look.
And sorry about the picture just a quick snapshot of the copic colours I used for the flower.

Now please pop by the talented Delphine's for her gorgeous card...

Don't forget the Paperbabe Stamps inspiration challenge is still running if you would love to enter and win prizes... click the picture at the top right to be taken there...
Until then enjoy a wonderfully creative day!!!

Introducing Large Peony & Bud Red Rubber Cling

Large Peony & Bud
This will seem familiar, it's the large version of the small peony from the Oriental Zen set. I've added a lot more detail and etched lines to give the flower more definition. It will be in red rubber cling, it has the image indexing on the back to help with precise stamping.  The Bud and flower are separate stamps.

The Details:
  • Large Peony & Bud will be available to purchase on Fri 5th Sept.
  • The set will retail for £7.50
  • The flower and bud stamps are red rubber and cling mounted. They have image indexing on the back for precise stamping as you can see through your acrylic block. They are hand cut separately and ready straight from the packet.
Now onto a sample

This is a mini 4" card, quite a quick card to make.
I stamped the flowers and bud in a grey ink, I stamped the first flower and masked it before stamping the next and the bud peeping from behind.
and I used just two copics, N1 & N3 to add depth to the petals. The sentiment is from MLD Little Red stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed the new release this week, I'm so pleased to be able to offer red rubber cling as well as clear stamps, let me know your favourites!!!

The talented team have been busy creating some gorgeous projects with the Large Peony & Bud red rubber stamps, click on their picture to be taken to their blogs...

Do come back tomorrow as it's shopping day and maybe for another sample that I just didn't get finished in time today...

Until then have a wonderfully creative day!!!

Paperbabe Stamps September Release - large Peony and Bud Stamp set

Hi again everyone and today we're presenting a gorgeous new stamp at Paperbabe stamps which is the Large Peony and Bud cling rubber stamp set.

I've stamped the peony which is a lovely size stamp in versamark ink onto a salt and watercolour background that I die cut with a large card size shaped die. After stamping I heat embossed with black embossing powder. I really like the texture and shine from the embossing and also that the colours of the background still show through.

I also heat embossed the sentiment from MayLeeDee with knit pattern dress in blue embossing powder, added ribbon, a gem and a bit of white rub n buff around the edges to finish.

All of the September releases will be available for purchase tomorrow from the Paperbabe Stamps shop.

Hope you have some creative time today.

Chris x

  • Beach Babe Pin Up contains a total of 8 images, a black and white outline and a faint outline for the no line colouring technique. She has four swimsuits included.
Now onto some samples...

Here's my card using the strapless swimsuit, coloured using my copics.
I wanted an elegant look but think it went a bit more fun british seaside.
I coloured the beach background free hand, i was so pleased with it, it seemed a shame to cover it up lol.
I used High in the Sky stamp set for the sentiment.

Next sample...

This is printed a lot larger and put in a frame,
she's also coloured using copics.

I am loving how different she can look, please check out what the team have created...

Edited to add Jackie's stunning card...

A lovely deep etch to help with all those different techniques you love.

They have image indexing on the back to help with precise stamping.

Now you can really have it all... clear, red rubber or digi.

The Details:
  • All Characters will be available for purchase on Fri 5th Sept.
  • Each set will retail for £7.50
  • Each Character stamp and sentiment stamp are red rubber and cling mounted. They have image indexing on the back for precise stamping as you can see through your acrylic block. They are hand cut and ready straight from the packet.
Now onto some samples...

I've been noticing quite a few designers creating cards with a partial die cutting technique, although I don't have co-ordinating die's I simply cut the frame first then went in with my scissors to trim a border around my image.
Pretty pleased with the result.
I opted to use Mayleedee Witchily for my sample... I've coloured her a bit more wizard than witch. The sentiment has been heat embossed onto vellum and die cut. I've used clear dimensional adhesive behind the gems and letters.
Here's the selection of copic colours I've used.
White hair certainly has it's challenges it was very close to it becoming grey, lol.
The talented team have been busy creating some gorgeous projects with the red rubber stamps, click on their picture to be taken to their blogs...

I'm sure you've been truly inspired and are already looking forward to coming back tomorrow for another introduction?

Until then have a wonderfully creative day!!!
